Leadership

Jeff Hatch founded the Blue Pillar Self-Reliant Project after years of helping individuals and families in Kenya on a personal level. Through these experiences, he came to respect the resilience, discipline, and potential of the people he met. He also saw the challenges that traditional aid models can create when they unintentionally encourage long-term dependency.

Jeff learned that meaningful and lasting change comes from teaching principles, creating structure, and offering opportunities that require personal effort. Over time, he watched individuals who combined integrity, steady work, and a willingness to learn completely transform their circumstances, even when starting with very limited resources.

These experiences helped shape the core philosophy behind Blue Pillar. The program focuses on verified progress, honest reporting, weekly learning, and consistent accountability. These elements build confidence and create real change.

Jeff believes that when people are given clear expectations, practical tools, and the chance to prove themselves, they succeed. He has seen how support groups, business training, and responsible bookkeeping help participants grow in confidence and capability. When individuals invest in their own progress and rise to meet high standards, they strengthen not only themselves but their families and communities as well.

With this vision in mind, Jeff established Blue Pillar as a system that encourages work instead of dependency, partnership instead of rescue, and long-term sustainability instead of temporary fixes. His goal is simple: help people stand on their own and then lift others.
